Best Bar: Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria

Runners Up: Downtown Grill & Brewery, Preservation Pub, Sapphire

Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria in the Old City provides good food, great beer, and a variety of live music in a setting welcoming to both families and those of us with no family values whatsoever. With another year as Knoxville’s Best Bar under its belt, Barley’s, which has been locally owned and operated since 2002, has proven that even if something ain’t broke, you can still fix it: Last year, the bar downstairs was moved from one side of the room to the other, freeing up some seating and about 700 square feet in this 16,000 sq. ft. space. The establishment still has one of the most enjoyable patios around and still boasts of great New-York style pizza; also, with around 50 brews on tap or in bottle, you’re guaranteed to find a flavor you like, which is why it takes home Knoxville’s Best Beer Selection, too.
