Gov. Phil Bredesen has named Michael Dockery to the board of directors of the Tennessee Community Services Agency. Bredesen may be raising Dockery’s profile because he is also a candidate for the state House of Representatives in District 17, which contains parts of Jefferson and Knox County.
An administration source said Dockery is active in Democratic Party politics in Jefferson County, leading to the appointment, not because he is a candidate for the Legislature.
