UT Board Wraps up Annual Meeting; Presidential Search Committee Meets

The University of Tennessee’s Board of Trustees will wrap up its annual two-day gathering Thursday with a day of meetings beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the Academic Affairs and Student Success Committee in the Plant Biotech Building, room 156-57. The full board meeting doesn’t begin until 1:15 that afternoon, in the Hollinsworth Auditorium of the Ellington Plant Sciences Building. At 3:30, the Presidential Search Committee meets in the same building, room 160. Interim president Jan Simek has been at the helm since John Peterson resigned last year after five years as president.

Another presidential search committee—this one comprising faculty, staff, students, alumni and outside groups—will meet Monday, June 28th, to brief whoever’s interested on the timeline and process of the search, as well as review the draft advertisement for the position. That meeting takes place at 12:45 p.m. in the executive dining room of the UT Knoxville University Center, 1502 West Cumberland Ave.
