We’re nearing the end of the month, when basically every city/county/city-county entity decides to gather within the span of a few days to discuss the public’s business. If, like us, you love a lengthy, verbose agenda and a healthy dose of Robert’s Rules of Order, the next few days will be Christmas in July.
On July 22, three agencies gather: the Knoxville Community Development Corporation at 11:30 a.m. at 901 Broadway NE; the KAT Community Advisory Committee at 1:30 p.m. in the main assembly room of the City-County Building; and the Knoxville Transportation Authority at 3 p.m., also in the main assembly of the City-County Building.
Then on Monday, County Commission meets at 2 p.m. in the main assembly room of the City-County Building. Commission’s agenda goes up Thursday, which you can (possibly) find at the county’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad website (knoxcounty.org/commission). That same day, the board of the Central Business Improvement District gathers at 11 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 17 Market Square. On Tuesday, City Council meets at the main assembly of the City-County Building at 7 p.m.
Last but not least, don’t forget that early voting commenced last week and runs until July 31. Visit knoxcounty.org/elections for information on where you can cast your ballot for the state primaries and the Knox County general elections.
