Don’t flip your wig, but on Tuesday, Feb. 16, KUB’s Tree Trim Policy Review Panel will welcome the public for a listening session with none other than Mr. TOM SIMPSON, East Tennessee regional urban forester for the state’s department of agriculture. Yeah, THAT Tom Simpson. He’s going to be opening the show with a presentation on national pruning standards and utilities—a number he hasn’t performed live since mid-2008, so you know it’s gonna be off the hook.
The meeting kicks off at KUB headquarters, 445 S. Gay St., from 6 to 8 p.m. in the first floor meeting room near the lobby.
But what’s this? Doth your cup runneth over? Also on Tuesday, Feb. 16, the city will host a meeting to update residents and business owners on the 100 and 200 blocks of Gay Street. Construction on the 100 block began a year ago and has been fairly disruptive to businesses and residents in the area. If you want to find out where things stand and what to expect next from city officials and contractors, zip over to the Emporium Building at 5 p.m. before heading to Prunefest 2010 at KUB headquarters.
