As the saying goes, “More money, more problems,” and so it is with new technologies. Especially ones that obviate the need to walk, but don’t include a lock.
According to a Knoxville Police report, an employee of a West Knoxville marketing firm filed a complaint last Thursday over the disappearance of his Segway. The report claimed the employee had parked the two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicle behind the building in order to recharge its battery. Upon his return a half hour later, the Segway was gone.
In an unfortunate case of technology failing technology, no security cameras were present to record the lazy culprit, who no doubt had the slowest getaway of any vehicular theft in recent memory.
