GOP Welcomes Non-Person Kent Williams

Carter County Republicans held a Lincoln Day Dinner last weekend and one of the speakers was House Speaker Kent Williams—the same Kent Williams expelled from the party and denied a place on the Carter County Republican ballot for his re-election. The county chair and Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, a candidate for governor, had nice things to say about Williams, despite his status as a non-person with the state party.

Thus far, no Republican has qualified to run against Williams, who will be running as an independent “Carter County Republican.”
