Prestige Cleaners Owner Considers Mayoral Run

The crowded Knoxville mayoral race may be getting another addition.

Eddie Mannis, owner of Prestige Cleaners, is talking with family and friends about seeking to succeed Mayor Bill Haslam. Mannis is active in the community, supporting a variety of causes, and is well respected in the business community.

He owns 10 dry cleaning stores with 145 employees. He has been a supporter of Coats for the Cold, the HonorAir program for World War II veterans, and various public school programs.

Mannis has told friends he would be making a decision soon after taking the Thanksgiving holiday to think about it.
