Former Mayor Victor Ashe, the New Pundit in Town

Be sure to check the Shopper News next week—we hear there will be a new column penned by former Knoxville Mayor and Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe. Ashe, who had 16 years experience on the matter, muses on the upcoming city political year should Mayor Bill Haslam be elected governor, and the prospects for replacing him.

Ashe isn’t likely to discuss candidates, but rather explain what a complicated procedure it may turn out to be. And no, Ashe isn’t replacing Betty Bean. Bean, the popular Shopper columnist (and MP contributor), contrary to popular rumor, says she will not be joining new County Mayor Tim Burchett’s administration.
