Local kids book author and illustrator Lisa Horstman has turned to paint and ink to help clean up some oil. Her 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” illustrated card of a pelican will soon be up for grabs at Ripple Sketches, an entity peddling digital prints to raise money for nonprofit organizations that are cleaning the animals affected by the Gulf oil spill. The print, which sells for $10, will be signed by Horstman, who most recently published Squawking Matilda, employing stop-action puppets in the illustrations.
