Morelock Music Moving

If you’re downtown and need a new banjo, or just about anything related to a banjo, you might have to wait until next month. Morelock Music, the new retail space and music-lesson headquarters on Gay Street owned by former WDVXer and banjo wizard Matt Morelock, is closed for the month of April while it moves to a bigger and more visible spot down the street.

The new space, at 411 S. Gay St., between Downtown Wine & Spirits and Yee-Haw Industries, will be more than 2,000 square feet, meaning more room for merchandise—some hats and Western wear and records in addition to music instruments and equipment—and even a small stage for possible afternoon performances.

For now, Morelock’s still offering lessons in the old space, and he’s still available for repairs and buying and selling instruments.
