TVA Hires Culture Consultant

We told you earlier that TVA planned to award a contract to a consulting firm to study and improve the “culture” of TVA. The contract has now been awarded to McKinsey and Co., the same company Gov. Phil Bredesen hired to explain, to no one’s surprise, that the TennCare budget was bankrupting the state of Tennessee.

McKinsey will be paid $5 million for the study. One of the conclusions expected to be in the final report is to change the culture so that if two different employees tell management the dam around the ash pond in Kingston is leaking, you fix the dam instead of sweeping the proverbial dirt, or coal ash, under the dike.
