At the next Knox County Commission meeting, Commissioner Greg “Lumpy” Lambert will be offering a resolution commending fellow Commissioner Richard Briggs. No, Lambert hasn’t decided to quit arguing with Briggs about agenda items. The resolution is to recognize Briggs, a heart surgeon, for successfully operating on Lambert’s father, who needed by-passes. Lambert said Briggs also performed successful heart surgery for his mother a few years back.
Lambert and Briggs are often on opposite sides of issues and clash often. But Lambert concedes that Briggs “is a great doctor and a great surgeon.”
