Other interesting ratings trends: WVLT has been kicking ass with its 11 p.m. news show for some time, given a strong lead-in from CBS prime time shows like the CSIs and The Mentalist. National ratings for Jay Leno’s 10 p.m. talk show on NBC have been less than stellar. Will this cut into WBIR’s late-night news show and extend WVLT’s lead?
Both national ratings trends will be closely watched by local station managers over the next year.
