Is Larry Stephens interested in returning to public office?
Stephens served two terms on Knox County Commission but gave it up because of the strain of serving while also being a teacher and the popular football coach at Powell High School.
Stephens, who is now retired, has been in regular attendance lately at the Knox County school board meetings giving rise to speculation he may want to put his education background to use. The district (number 7) is currently represented by Rex Stooksbury, who is up for re-election next year. Stooksbury defeated Diane Dozier to win the seat.
