Mayor Mike Ragsdale’s budget has already received a lot of criticism. County grants for the arts and area non-profits have been slashed to half of last year’s funding. The mayor seeks to increase spending $7 million from last year, taking $20 million out of the county’s “rainy day” reserve funds to cover the revenue holes. No new taxes, though, right? Should be interesting to see what happens in front of the County Commission.
