How Many Foreclosures in Your Knoxville Neighborhood?

The national foreclosure rate hit an all-time high at the end of March 2009—up 17 percent from February of this year, and 46 percent over March 2008. Tennessee isn’t faring so badly, however. Even though it ranks 17th among states with the most foreclosures (Nevada is first), with one in 263 households receiving a filing in the first quarter of 2009, that’s just a 2 percent increase from the fourth quarter of 2008, and actually a decrease of -16.36 percent compared to the first quarter of 2008.

Locally, the least foreclosures occurred in the downtown housing market, with just one in March in the 37902 zip code, compared to these other rates:
