Local druggists have been told the state is assessing what penalties to impose on a health insurance company they say retroactively changed the amount of reimbursement to drug stores for prescriptions.
Metro Pulse reported earlier that druggists were complaining that after they agreed to fill a prescription at an agreed price, a health insurance company decided to reimburse at a lower rate, contrary to state law. This prompted the state to launch an investigation into the practice. The druggists now say they have been told the investigation is nearing completion.
