There is a preliminary plan to bring all the Democratic gubernatorial candidates to Knoxville for a Truman Day event in August. The event would be held at the Knoxville Zoo, with an outside heavy hors d’oeuvres table instead of the traditional dinner.
Details have not been finalized. Democratic candidates who have announced thus far include Kim McMillan, Mike McWherter, state Sen. Roy Herron, Ward Cammack, and state Sen. Jim Kyle. The last Truman Day Dinner was at the Knoxville Convention Center with James Carville as speaker.
