Sometimes we think of Bonnaroo as a local event, even though it’s more than 150 miles away. There are good reasons—the festival was founded and is co-managed by local promoters AC Entertainment, and Bonnaroo offers an annual showcase for Knoxville bands to perform in front of a built-in audience. Todd Steed, R.B. Morris, Dishwater Blonde, Mic Harrison, Royal Bangs, Tenderhooks, Westside Daredevils, Mitch Rutman, and Leslie Woods, among others, have played the festival in the past. This year’s local lineup includes Morristown modern rockers Vertigo, singer/songwriter Erick Baker, The Black Lillies, and the Dirty Guv’nahs, with Harrison and the High Score serving as Roger Alan Wade’s backing band for his set on Thursday afternoon.
