Knox County DA’s Office Covers its Bases

The Knox County DA’s office is covering all the bases.

District Attorney Randy Nichols is on board to help his colleague Bill Gibbons in his run for governor. Nichols is one of a group of district attorneys, some of them Democrats, supporting Shelby County District Attorney Gibbons in the Republican primary. Nichols is one of nine vice-chairs of the Gibbons effort. Nichols ran for governor as a Democrat in 2002.

John Gill, Nichols’ chief assistant, introduced Gibbons around on visits to Knoxville this past year, but he was in attendance at a $250 per ticket fund-raiser for Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam at Jim Clayton’s house.
