Among the handful of hopefuls waiting for the South Knoxville Big Lots to open a few Sundays ago was none other than Knoxville attorney Herb “Give ‘em Hell” Moncier. Just the Friday before, he had filed the lawsuit against lawyer Richard Beeler alleging he overcharged the Knox County Retirement & Pension Board, but there’s no conclusive evidence that the Big Lots shopping trip was part of a frugal-image building campaign for Moncier. Maybe the guy just needed a “Real Deal” on a watering can—after the doors opened, he was spotted in the garden section.
