In a feat of Herculean labor and laser-like scientific accuracy, the Metro Pulse staff has determined, to an absolute statistical certainty, Knoxville’s best band ever. Or at least the band that got the most points in a recent poll of dozens of local musicians, journalists, and hangers-on from the last 30 years of the Knoxville music scene. You may be surprised. You may not. You may agree, and you might not. Either way, the results will be revealed in the 2009 edition of the annual MP music issue, which will be published on Jan. 29. Sure to be a collector’s item! (The polls are closed, but cash inducements postmarked by Jan. 28 will still be accepted.)

journalist or hanger on. Sadly, I suspect the latter.
