The University of Tennessee Foundation raises money for the university and this afternoon they can see how the school spends some of its state budget. The board has a 3 p.m. meeting Jan. 8 in the newly redone 8th floor conference room at Andy Holt Tower.
That would be the conference room redone as part of a $500,000 renovation of the top floor of the building. It includes a $35,000 conference table, a kitchenette, six offices and a teleconference center. The project was approved and funded by the state in 2006, but was not completed until December—poorly timed to coincide with orders to UT to cut $75 million from its budget.
