Better hold off on those homecoming parties for former Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe. President-elect Barack Obama’s team has asked Ashe to postpone leaving his post as Ambassador to Poland until February.
Obama’s team had earlier notified politically-appointed ambassadors their services would no longer be required after inauguration day—Jan. 20. But Ashe has been asked to delay his departure until Feb. 6, for a smoother transition.
Gives him more time to pack before moving out of public housing.
