The Knox County Board of Education is, like everything else, being pulled in two fiscal directions. On the one hand, Superintendent Jim McIntyre has been counting on a $15 million gap between what KCS needs and what it’s likely to get. On the other hand, that could be offset by millions coming into the county from the federal stimulus package. The day after the meeting, McIntyre will host the first 2009-2010 public budget forum.
Board meeting: Wed. March 4, at 5 p.m., Main Assembly Room, City County Building. Public forum: Thurs. March 5, at 6 p.m., Bearden High School, 352 Kingston Pike
