We understand Knox County Commissioner Greg “Lumpy” Lambert was attending a local cultural attraction recently and was trying to resolve a ticket snafu when a passer-by offered him some advice.
The stranger and arts patron advised the commissioner to go down to the bowling alley, drink some beer, and watch NASCAR.
It was embarrassing for the sponsoring non-profit, which has been trying to get commissioners to attend events and financially support cultural attractions in a tight budget year. Lambert, who didn’t stay for the event, wanted to buy two additional tickets for his guests, but they couldn’t get them together. Lambert says he bears no ill will toward the organization and he has been offered tickets for the next event.
“I may be from Powell, but I know when I’ve been insulted,” Lambert says.
