Classic Political Ads in the Making

Tom Jester, one of the most creative local advertising producers, looks to be busy for the next couple of years with three of his prominent clients expected to be on the ballot.

Jester produced the classic ad by state Sen. Tim Burchett, where Burchett stops his truck on the way to Nashville to save a turtle - a play on his famous roadkill bill. Burchett is running for Knox County Mayor in 2010. Jester also has worked for Sheriff Jimmy “JJ” Jones, who is also running for re-election as sheriff in 2010.

Jester’s commercials for Madeline Rogero in 2003 featured a parody about her family running an oil company, poking fun at her mayoral opponent Bill Haslam. Rogero is expected to be a candidate for mayor in 2011.
