Forget about high-priced electronics—cute and cuddly is now the hot commodity among thieves, or at least that was the case earlier this month at a 13th Street apartment.
According to a Knoxville Police Department report, the victim and her roommates left their apartment and—since Fort Sanders is known to be such a crime-free area—left their key underneath the doormat. When they returned home, the roommates found the key to be missing and the door locked.
Upon entering the apartment, they quickly checked to see if anything was stolen. The bone-chilling result: Larry, the roommates’ black and white pet cat, and a stuffed monkey were MIA.
Could this be evidence of a budding black market for felines and stuffed animals? Or perhaps the perpetrator simply has a passion for all things precious.
