A Lump of Coal from the City Government

Local government usually grows quiet around the holidays, but City Council will meet on Dec. 29 for its regular twice-a-month affair. There’s no telling what they’re going to talk about because the agenda doesn’t go up until the Friday before the meeting. Of course, this Friday is Christmas, when city government is closed, so one might assume the city would put the agenda up a bit early so the local alt-weekly writer charged with writing blurbs about these events could comb through the agenda for an interesting item or two. But what one might not assume is that the city had linked an old agenda to the future meeting’s date, so that after finding the interesting items and describing them with his usual wit, this person’s editor would point out that he thought these events had already taken place and that the writer’s very precious time and efforts were wasted. Or something.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the City-County building and is open to the public.
