When Parking Lot Attendants Snap

Parking violators take heed: One Old City-area parking attendant allegedly has been following the time-honored tradition of disgruntled employees destroying property. Police received a disturbance call around 2:15 a.m. on Nov. 21 after a car owner discovered that his windshield and tail lights were broken—and the suspect was still at his car.

According to a Knoxville Police Department report, two other vehicles in the lot exhibited identical damages. The KPD report further details the suspect’s statement at the scene, “that he did throw large rocks at the vehicles because he ‘snapped’ due to people continuously parking where they should not be.” He claimed he was not attempting to steal from the cars, and was charged with vandalism and destruction of property.

Keep this in mind the next you park a little too close to the painted line or in one of those “reserved” slots. Who knows when the next parking lot attendant will be pushed over the edge?
