Louis Cosby was the go-to guy for local media during a series of audits about spending in Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale’s administration, and the retired CPA and auditor was much in the news explaining the ins and outs of budget items. At one point Ragsdale was caught on video calling him a “showboat.” Cosby was named to the county ethics panel.
But does he have the name recognition to get into the county mayor’s race with repeatedly re-elected former Sheriff Tim Hutchison and repeatedly re-elected state Sen. Tim Burchett? Cosby has picked up petitions to run in either the Republican primary or to possibly challenge the winner as an independent. He has until Feb. 18 to decide.
