Inspired by the lower-priced admission to Ice Bears games and the difficult economy, the Hard Knox Rollergirls slashed admission prices effective with their Aug. 1 bout against Mobile (while still diverting part of the take to Special Olympics of Greater Knoxville and hosting local Special Olympians as honored guests). At the door, tickets are down to $12 from $15, online $8 from $10. The 501c3 non-profit is still cultivating sponsors for the league, too, and requires its skaters to pay modest monthly dues to roll.
