Even if you’re not a Grateful Dead fan, you might still find something worthwhile at the fourth annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash at the Valarium on Friday, Aug. 7. Besides a solid lineup of local Americana and jam bands—Grandpa’s Stash, Jescoe, Turtle Folk, the Last Straw, and Matt Tillery—all proceeds from the $5 admission will be donated to the effort to rebuild the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Ga. The historic theater was heavily damaged by fire on June 19.
