Friends of former Knoxvillian Elmer Valverde, originally of Peru, will hold a benefit concert later this month to raise money for medical expenses for Valverde’s mother. The performance, called the Amigos Concert, will be held at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Sunday, April 12, at 7 p.m. Performers include Juan Flores Cruz, Kukuly Uriarte of the Johnson Swingtet, Margarita Merino, Barbara Kemper, Lilly Sutton, Amanda Taylor, Christopher Hamblin, Cailen Campbell, and Steve Potts.
Admission is $5 for children and students, $8 for adults, and $20 for families. Proceeds will be donated to Valverde and his mother.
