Christabel and the Jons Seek Vintage Audience to Film

Local string-jazz revivalists Christabel and the Jons are adding a special feature to next weekend’s concert at the renovated Capitol Theater in downtown Maryville. In addition to a regular old swinging old-time-style jazz concert on Friday, April 10, at 9 p.m. ($12 in advance, $15 at the door, BYOB), the band will be filming the set for future release as a video. A post on the band’s website asks fans to dress up in vintage finery, if you’ve got it, and fill up the dance floor.

“This theater has been recently renovated and it’s gorgeous,” the post reads. “There’s a big dance floor in front that we’d love to fill with swing dancers.”

Details about the video—length, format, expected release date—weren’t available at press time.
