Then, race to the Art Gallery of Knoxville for a unique live-sound-art experience with innovative artist Max Neuhaus . Tell your friends all over the world to listen for your “musical” contribution at auracle.org. We’re not exactly sure what it’ll involve, but hey, free wine.
Next, follow the Christmas Parade down Gay Street to the Emporium Holiday Extravaganza , on the corner of Gay St. and Jackson Ave., where you will find handmade gifts by nearly 30 local artists and live music. Re-fuel with “sweet treats and warm drinks” before heading to Host Clothing in the Old City for a D.I.Y./Art Garage Sale . We’ve been assured: “You will not find painted saw blades” among the one-of-a-king crafts available for holiday gift purchase.
Turn four ought to lead you to Ironwood Gallery (119 Jennings Street by Lusk off Central Ave.), for a showing of the AIGA Holiday Card Competition ; 50 “Peace on Earth”-themed card design entries will be on view, and the four winning designs will be reproduced for sale.
