Midsummer Nights
Summer has started to wear out its welcome. If May and June refreshed our senses with blooming flowers and warm breezes, July is bogging us down with glaring sunshine, oppressive humidity and an endless series of thunderstorms. Already thankful for the invention of air conditioning (less so when it freezes us to the core), we are additionally blessed by a mid-season burst of activity from three local theater companies. Two musicals and two Shakespeare plays will provide a needed respite from reality shows and big-budget movies--and a worthy reason to stay indoors.
