Letter: Separation Anxiety

I read the article in Metro Pulse about "The Battle over 287[G]" [cover story by Paige Huntoon, Aug. 15, 2013]. I noticed on the cover a sign that said "It hurts when families are separated."

I can only say that I agree with the sign. It is very unfortunate that individuals and families feel that a better life can be had by crossing over into the U.S. and then find that they have subjected themselves to disruptive circumstances.

It might be a better expenditure of time, money, and emotion to advertise outside the U.S. and alert potential emigrants that there are very real problems associated with being here in the U.S. illegally.
