Knoxville has its own dish! ["Knoxville's Own Dish," cover story, March 13, 2014] It started in 1982 at the World's Fair, Knoxville: Petros!
We only moved to this area in 2008, but came to the fair, ate Petros, loved them, and have eaten them as often as possible ever since. More importantly, it is definitely a Knoxville dish, available to most anyone, most any time. It already has a huge fan base so could easily be promoted as "the" must eat when in Knoxville. Also, it would be readily available rather than limited as would be the suggestions in the March 13 issue, although all those dishes sound very tasty.
