Letter: Keep it Clean, People

I noticed the squib in this week's issue regarding our chronic problem with litter. [What Knoxville Needs, Feb. 20, 2014] Perhaps we should revive the old "Don't Be a Litterbug" signs of the past; or we might bring out the "big guns" and revive the "Tennessee Trash" press and television campaign that, in the lead-up to the 1982 World's Fair, shamed us all into cleaning up our act and depositing our trash in the designated receptacles instead of on the street, the sidewalk, someone else's yard, or the highway. The world is still coming to Knoxville—just not 90,000 people at one time.
