The Rules

Submissions to the calendar must be made by e-mail (calendar@metropulse), fax (865-522-2955), or snail mail (ATTN: Calendar c/o Metro Pulse, 602 S. Gay St., Knoxville, TN 37902) or through the online submissions form. Listings won’t be accepted over the phone, in casual conversation, or through the Metro Pulse advertising department.

Deadline is Thursday at noon, the week before the issue in which you want the listing to appear.

Listings must include a description of the event, time, date, place, and pertinent contact information (usually a telephone number, website, and/or e-mail address). Incomplete listings will not be published.

What gets in: concerts and music performances, dance nights, gallery and museum exhibits, theater and dance performances, charity events, festivals, sports and recreation, kids’ events, free community classes and workshops (free or with a nominal fee, i.e. $10 or less, and not associated with a commercial enterprise), and club and support group meetings.

What doesn’t get in: karaoke, drink specials (those are listed online), bike nights, football game broadcasts, commercial events, health screenings, sectarian religious events, for-credit college classes, professional or vocational classes, class or family reunions, mother’s day out, or elementary, middle, and high school events.

Listings include Knox and Blount counties, with additional areas included at the discretion of the calendar editor and as space provides.
