It's very sad. Many of SEEED's founders started at Tribe One. And all the organizations mentioned are operating on a shoestring. Like us, Tribe One really struggled to find funding for the age group we work with - out of school young people ages 16-25 -- the one who hang out on the streets --- many are homeless --- unemployment is 40% in urban Knoxville for this age group. Groups like ours who work to keep them off the streets and away from the easy route (drugs and jail) can't find funding. Yet for every young person we support in finding a sustainable job, we save taxpayers about $19,000 per year in inmate costs.
