How can we bring about evolution of the Electoral College? That the popular vote seemingly cannot work in today's society baffles me. At the very least, a revamping of the EC is in order. So that every vote in the presidential election means something, the popular vote should count for a percentage of the electoral vote. If 20% of Tennesseans vote for Obama, then 20% of the Tennessee's electoral votes should go to Obama. Likewise, if 40% of New York's voters want Romney, then 40% of NY's electoral votes should go to him. With states that overwhelmingly vote blue or red, this system would at least give the minority some voice in the presidential election. Our Electoral College is archaic. If popular vote cannot work (and I believe it can), then we must revamp the EC to make everyone's vote meaningful. Any suggestions on how we effect this change?
