Most people in East Tennessee are Republicans for the same reason most are fundamentalist Christians, etc. It's tradition and fitting into society, business, etc. But, and it's a big BUT, their fundamentalism might conflict with a general election vote for Romney. After all, Obama is a Christian. I don't think some of the East Tennessee Republicans will vote for either of them.
