I think it should be noted that when Commissioner McKenzie asked Mr. Edwards how much the Chamber spent on a full page KNS ad as part of their opposition campaign he slowly stumbled up to the podium and mumbled a very large number. Wasn't it like $4,600? Mr. Edwards do you really think we believe that you spent $4,600 out of the goodness of your heart 'to inform the public?' No. It was part of your campaign to scare people into thinking the government was going to take their land. I think people also need to know that Mayor Burchett was there, but stood in the back with Mr. Edwards of the Chamber and the above-mentioned developers and talked very loudly at times over people who were reading support statements at the podium. It was very rude and very unprofessional. At other times they could be seen whispering to each other in dark corners. Mayor Burchett, can you at least give the impression that you're not in cahoots with the opposition? You are a public figure. You work for and with the county government. The MPC guys who passed this 11-2 are your colleagues. And even if you don't like the plan, at least try to give the appearance that you're not in these developers' back pockets. (Please note that I'm not saying he is. His actions were just shady and unprofessional on Monday.)
