Rikki Hall, As a first-time reader, I applaud your article. Your commentary gets to the core of our problem: Lack of leadership. Ichak Adizes, author of Corporate Lifecycles, shows what happens to organizations over time from birth to the go-go stages to death. In the declining stages, politics take over inside the organization (government) and internal power structures forget their customer's (constituent's) needs and focus instead on intentionally undermining each other to keep the 'other guys' from succeeding. His insights are perfectly demonstrated by the behaviors of the two parties -- and we all suffer for it.
