I'm wondering how accurate the BMI is. All the articles I've read lead me to believe that it is greatly overrated as a reliable indicator of obesity. When the BMI information was first released to the public, examples were given as to which famous people were obese. Names like Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger and all professional weightlifters were stated to be obese to extremely obese. These people did not have an ounce of "extra fat" on them. Is this weight index accurate or simply a misleading myth that will continue to be perpetrated as the "Truth"? Is this our Government's way to say we are too dumb to know what is best/good for us, so they can take over making ALL our decisions for us?
