The statement, "Jamal discovers that every Millionaire question asked of him—wouldn’t you know it?—can be answered by thinking back to a minor (and tragic) event in his heavily flashbacked past." is simply not accurate. Kieron should see this movie again.
This is an extremely well crafted movie and narrative. It doesn't purport to offer any "answers" for the people it depicts. I enjoyed "City of God", but this is a much better film. Characterizing this movie as "philosophically bleak" and "vacuous" is absurd.
Not everyone will want to see a movie about child beggars that was produced in India, but don't be put off because of the invalid criticisms in this review.
