I recently went to a popular sandwich joint/deli on Northshore the other day on a friend's recommendation. The food was decent enough but the amount of packaging required to present my soup, sandwich, pickle and water was absurdly excessive. My entire tray was covered with Styrofoam containers, papers and aluminum foil. I decided right then that I wouldn't be returning. I like to support local businesses but the Panera just up the street has real hardware to contain my food which has less environmental impact (and it tastes better to boot).
